UNM Continuing Education recognizes the need for efficient education in order to enhance workforce development within the community. This time includes 1.5 hours of live, personally-tailored micro-lectures and 13-18 hours of self-guided learning facilitated through an online learning management system. Throughout the duration of the program, students dedicate about 20 hours a week to mastering the curriculum. The rigorous program prepares graduates to confidently fill the open entry-level positions within the industry. “We are thrilled to partner with Promineo Tech on such quality programs that will provide more career opportunities for our students,” states Audrey Arnold, Executive Director for UNM Continuing Education. The job opportunities for the graduates of the program span from roles including Java Developer, Software Engineer, Back End Developer, Application Developer and Front End Developer with a rewarding $62,000 average starting salary. The bootcamps are specifically designed for the working adult who is looking to switch careers, or to change positions within the tech industry. The University of New Mexico Continuing Education saw an opportunity to bridge this gap by offering 18-week coding bootcamps powered by Promineo Tech in both Front End and Back End Software Development. With the current shortage of 1.4 million software developers in the US, there is a heightened demand for skilled software developers.
